Wilhelm Wohlert trained at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, where he was taught by Kaare Klint. He was employed by the Academy as Professor of Structural Art from 1968-1986 and was nominated honorary member in 2001.
His most important works include the reconstruction of the Ny Carlsberg Glyptotek, Museum Bochum, the Gustav Lübcke Museum and a large number of other building and restoration projects.
He was awarded the Academy’s ‘little’ Gold Award, the Eckersberg Medal, the Danish National League for Built Heritage and Landscape’s Cultural Prize and several other distinctions.
Vilhelm Wohlert designed floor lamp model 325 for LE KLINT in connection with the refurbishment of Niels Bohr’s home in Copenhagen.
