The GA-2 was designed in 1931 by Gunnar Asplund for the conference room of Svenska Slöjdföreningen (now Svensk Form).
The GA-2 armchair is made with a chrome or matte chrome steel frame. Birch base and seat with hand-braided coil springs in a cassette. Upholstered in vegetable-tanned leather. In 2024, Källemo reintroduced the GA-2 armchair at Stockholms Auktionsverk.
Designer
Gunnar Asplund was born in 1885 in Stockholm. Asplund is considered one of the most significant architects in Swedish history, and his legacy lives on through his groundbreaking works such as Skogskyrkogården and Stockholm Public Library.
Everything we surround ourselves with affects us. Even furniture. Källemo’s ambition is to produce long-term sustainable furniture. Furniture that “stand the wear of the eye”, resisting temporary trends and whose design continues to interest. An immateriality that cannot be administered. It comes from within and is recognized by gifted designers.
