Hans Verstuyft founded his architecture practice in 1992. In 2016, he was commissioned by Trizo to design the Austere light, a minimalist series that put an emphasis on the beautiful materials they’re made from.

Hans Verstuyft’s studio avoids transient trends, instead focusing on rational solutions imbued with a tangible sense of warmth, comfort and sensuality. Simple in form but rich in minimalist detail, his architecture, product, and lighting design evoke an approach to living that’s unmistakably Verstuyft.

"I really like natural materials such as wood, stone, metal, leather, wool or linen fabrics instead of artificial materials. Natural materials have imperfections that tell a story, and they age far more gracefully."
