Tissø Sofa

The Tissø Sofa by Alfred Christensen is a reissue of the Model 185 sofa, originally designed in 1952.
Its most recognisable feature is the softly curved, heart-shaped back, giving the sofa a warm and distinctive character. The frame is made from solid beech wood using traditional joinery methods, upholstered in genuine sheepskin or fabric, and finished with feet in oak or walnut.
The sofa takes its name from Lake Tissø in West Zealand, where Alfred Christensen and his son Guido would often go fishing. It is a small personal detail behind the design, connecting the sofa to the landscape and everyday life that Christensen knew well.

Alfred Christensen
Alfred Christensen was a Danish cabinetmaker, manufacturer and designer who played an important role in the development of Danish mid-century furniture. As co-owner and chief designer of Slagelse Møbelværk, he combined traditional craftsmanship with an instinct for emerging trends.
