String® System Shelves
Kajsa & Nisse Strinning 1949
The wooden shelves are available in two widths, 580 and 780 mm, along with two depths, 200 and 300 mm.
The shelves fit into wire and plex panels from String® System if the shelves and panels have the same depth. The shelves are flexible and easy to move around to meet your preferences. Create a monochrome shelf or mix shelves in different colours and types of wood. Each packaging contains three shelves and brackets.

Kajsa & Nisse Strinning
Nils “Nisse” Strinning (1917 – 2006) was a Swedish architect and designer whose clean and practical designs have come to form the basis of what is now known as “Scandinavian design”. Nisse Strinning was best known for the String shelving system that he and his wife, the designer Kajsa Strinning, designed in response to a 1949 contest held by Bonnier public library.

The String design has received more than 15 prestigious international awards including a gold medal at the Milan Triennale (1954), The Classic Prize and Excellent Swedish Design (1999), German Design Award (2016), “Furniture Supplier of the Year” and Winner Long Life Design Award (2020) to name a few. String® was also honoured with a stamp by the Swedish Postal Service (2017).
