GA-1 Chair

Gunnar Asplund 1931

The GA-1 Chair was designed in 1931 by Gunnar Asplund for the Svenska Slöjdföreningen’s (now Svensk Form) boardroom in Stockholm.

In 1988, Källemo obtained the production rights for GA-1. The GA-1 is made with a steel frame in chrome with a seat and backrest of molded birch upholstered in vegetable-tanned leather. In 2024, Källemo reintroduced the GA-1 chair at Stockholms Auktionsverk.

craftmanship

Everything we surround ourselves with affects us. Even furniture. Källemo’s ambition is to produce long-term sustainable furniture. Furniture that “stand the wear of the eye”, resisting temporary trends and whose design continues to interest. An immateriality that cannot be administered. It comes from within and is recognized by gifted designers.
