Standing at the forefront of art and design, the Bastone collection showcases master cabinetmaker Antrei Hartikainen’s interest in light and shadow and his appreciation of craftsmanship.

The Finnish designer has always admired the tall and sparse woods where the light filters and shifts through the trees, and he wanted to create a similar experience in his cabinets. One can see this by the cabinet’s exterior being partly open, partly covered by round and narrow strips of wood, while the wooden dowel rods create an arched form that filters light. Balancing functional object with pure art, the Bastone Cabinet is a timeless sculptural piece of craftsmanship that casts mesmerising shadows around interior spaces.
