Aurélien Barbry graduated with honours from École Camondo in Paris, specialising in industrial and interior design. He began his career working alongside renowned architect Jean Nouvel and has since built an impressive portfolio of projects across design and interiors. His client list includes prestigious names such as Georg Jensen, COR, Menu, Normann Copenhagen, and ENO.
Now based in Copenhagen, Barbry continues to pursue thoughtful and refined design. His first collaboration with Le Klint was La Cloche—a sculptural, bell-shaped lamp meticulously hand-folded by the brand’s expert “pleating ladies”. With this piece, Barbry introduced a modern classic to Le Klint’s iconic collection.
In 2014, he followed with Caché—named after the French word for “hidden”. The design subtly reveals Le Klint’s signature hand-folded shade, gracefully integrated within a clean, contemporary silhouette. It’s a quiet tribute to the brand’s heritage—one that respects and reinterprets its DNA without overwhelming it.
Barbry expresses his joy in discovering a fresh yet understated way to honour Le Klint’s timeless craftsmanship.
