Passing through the beech forests and the small village of Diö by the river Helgeå, you will find Sweden’s oldest furniture workshop, Gemla Fabrikers.
Founded in 1861 and characterised by inventiveness as well as stubbornness, said to be typical of the region of Småland, Gemla describes itself as ‘picky, inventive and stubborn’ when it comes to work.
Combining the purest forms of bentwood with a contemporary expression, Vilda is a classic chair in a modern design, where the natural bentwood meets the vegetable-tanned leather.
A close and longtime collaborator, Great Dane and Gemla work together to bring the best of modern Swedish design to Australian homes.
