Tangent Table Rectangular

Anne Boysen 2025

The Tangent Table Rectangular was created for dk3 by Danish architect and designer Anne Boysen.

The table balances form, function and craftsmanship in a design that appears modern and timeless at the same time. It comes in a rectangular and a round version, each interpreting the distinct and original design.

Tangent Table Rectangular is shaped entirely from tangential arcs that transition smoothly into one another, forming a cohesive and balanced silhouette with a gentle sense of asymmetry. The tabletop is constructed from wide solid wood planks laid lengthwise, giving it a calm, composed appearance. A softly curved edge lightens the overall look, creating a sense that the surface almost hovers.

“My goal is to merge aesthetics and functionality with the sensory qualities of materials.”

The base is made up of two contrasting elements: a curved disc paired with a solid, grounded form. Both are crafted from solid wood and finished with softly rounded edges at the base. Together, they create a quiet tension that shifts as you move around the table, offering a different impression from every angle.

The rectangular version can be extended with a leaf at each end, adding space for up to three additional seats. When in place, the extensions integrate seamlessly with the tabletop, maintaining a cohesive look.

CRAFTMANSHIP

The love for organic material and uncompromising focus on quality is evident throughout the entire process, from the first design sketches to the manufacturing in the carpentries, where most pieces are finished and surface treated by hand.
