Lavitta Chair

Poiat Studio 2015

The first member of the Lavitta collection is a small chair that draws upon the influences of traditional Finnish outdoor furniture.

Designed by Helsinki-based design studio, Poiat known for their distinctive interior architecture and furniture, the studio has “a profound interest in the details and a strong commitment to one’s vision that together create an enduring ambience with elegance and some modern quaintness.”

Lavitta reinterprets a classic Scandinavian countryside chair into a more sophisticated form. Designed to overlap each other for easy horizontal storage, and with an elegant palette of timber options, the chair harmoniously complements almost any interior and is available exclusively in Australia at Great Dane.

POIAT STUDIO

CRAFTMANSHIP

The origin of the word Poiat summarises both worlds of the company: a small village in the Italian Alps and a word meaning “boys” in one of the Finnish dialects. The love for Italian design aesthetics and heritage combined with the Finnish cultural tradition of collaborative working.
