Ilse Sofa

Ilse Crawford 2014

Its high back and box shape are carefully engineered to make it a room within a room, while its ample dimensions means it easily doubles as a cosy spare bed.

Focusing on sustainability, traditional techniques and natural materials, an interwoven horse hair lock method forms the outer layer of the Ilse Sofa, which doubles as the primary stuffing material. Along with coil springs, the internal structure is hand filled with Australian organic sheep wool, with a layer of cotton felt providing thick padding and comfort.

A place to settle in, sprawl out or curl up feeling safe and protected, the Ilse sofa is a piece of interior architecture, designed for those who want a functional and comfortable piece that becomes a standout feature in the room.
