Classic Rattan Bag
Palmgrens 1950
With over 120 years of heritage, Palmgrens is one of Sweden’s most established leather goods producers.
Palmgrens signature Rattan Bag with its original design launched in 1950, was inspired by the wicker baskets Mediterranean women wore. The bag is sewn with a vegetable-tanned premium calf leather frame and handle together with a natural six way cane weave. The bag has one small pocket inside to keep a phone or other small essentials safe.

The Stockholm-based leather atelier was founded in 1896, beginning with vegetable-tanned leather goods such as saddles, bridles, and harnesses before expanding into handbags, wallets, and home office accessories. In 1950, they launched their version of the wicker market bag—the now-classic rattan bag. Framed in colourful leather, the modern design still resonates today.
